I find beginners struggle at 2 main points of the snatch, these are;

Barbell Awareness:

- The banded drill forces the athlete to keep the barbell close to there body, as the band will pull them away
- Closer bar = better position
Early Elbow Bend
The key takeaway;
- Bending the elbows too early reduces force produced & efficiency of the movement
- By 'Squeezing the pinkies' you put yourself in a better position & will make it much more difficult to bend the elbows earlier.
